In this letter to Juan Francisco Pérez, director of Comfacor (Caja de Compensación Familiar de Córdoba), Manuel Zapata Olivella poses the idea of offering a workshop-seminar on national identity to teachers and students as a way of reflecting on Colombia's ethnicity and multiculturalism. This seminar was part of Zapata Olivella's efforts to promote Colombian identity following the 1991 constitutional reform, by which Colombia became a multicultural nation.
